Here at First Digital Media we deal with clients who have nationwide and even international scope but we’re proud to be based in Lancaster and to be a part of the local community.
As part of that we set out to support local charities and one of our choices this year is Unique Kidz and Co, now in their 15th year. They have a great opportunity to expand their premises, allowing them to support many more young people with disabilities or additional needs – effectively bringing in many of their waiting list immediately!
To do that, this year they’ve been looking for volunteers to tackle Born Survivor, a huge challenge waiting in Gisburn in the Ribble Valley.
Three of our team have stepped up to take on the challenge – Tony Bell, a Business Development Manager, Josh Forbes from our Web Design team, and Josh Ford who specialises in Google and Facebook Ads. For the past few months every Wednesday night they’ve donned their running gear and set off after work on a sustained run around the local area to keep themselves in training – and yes, that includes a punishing outing on the hottest day of the year!
The Charity Challenge
Born Survivor is no laughing matter. Designed by Royal Marine Commandos, the obstacles the team will be tackling include the darkened, water-filled Rat Hole tunnels, a Torpedo Slide topping out at 30 miles per hour directly into 4 feet of river water, and all building up to the mud-covered climax of the Blitz Wall where, at their most tired, carrying extra weight from all that water and mud, the team will scramble to the top.
The event takes place this coming Saturday and we’re throwing you down a challenge in turn.
